What is chromophobe RCC?

Chromophobe is a type of renal cell carcinoma (RCC), or kidney cancer.

Chromophobe RCC is seen in a number of diseases, including Birt-Hogg-Dubé syndrome. For more information on BHD, visit BHDSyndrome.org

In people with BHD syndrome, chromophobe kidney cancer is often slow-growing, and does not appear to metastasise. Over 80% of BHD-related kidney tumours are at least partly chromophobe.
